Nicki Grihault spent her childhood in Africa and has been travelling ever since. Now based in the UK, she has been a freelance journalist since 1993, specialising in travel, international life and health. Until recently, travel editor of Executive Woman magazine, she has held posts as assistant editor at Woman Abroad, worked at Wanderlust, one of Britain's major travel magazines and as a writer for Culture Shock! guides. She is now freelance associate editor at Trip Magazine.

She is author of Working in Asia (Inprint 1996 OUP) and Culture Smart! India (Feb 2003), she updated and expanded The Good Honeymoon Guide (Trailblazer, 2002) and now writes on travel for publications such as Traveller (Wexas), Global Adventure magazine and the honeymoon section of You & Your Wedding as well as the regional Evening Standard, and national newspaper, The Mail on Sunday. Her features on International life appear in The Weekly Telegraph and Nexus Expatriate News. Nicki is a member of the Freelance NUJ.
